During a reception, a walking dinner or networking drinks, Tijl moves from group to group. He joins a conversation like any other guest. Before long, something happens that no one can explain.
That way the mentalism simply becomes part of the evening. Nothing has to stop for it.

What it is

Walking isn't a show to watch, it's something to step into. Tijl picks his moment: he reads the room, sees which group is ready and steps in. Then something happens that no one can place.
A guest who experiences it first-hand passes it on.
What makes it different is that it happens up close. No stage pulling the attention to one spot, no announcement bringing everything to a halt. It happens at the scale of a table conversation, and it stays personal.
The real effect comes afterwards. The guests who saw it keep coming back to it.

How many guests does Walking reach?
Count on 40 to 50 guests per hour. The exact number depends on the group sizes and the pace of the evening. At a busy reception it runs higher than on a quiet evening.

Will you get to every guest?
As many as I can. People move around, so I can't keep track of who's where or who I've already performed for. Not everyone is up for something out of the ordinary. And if someone is in the middle of an important conversation, or would rather not be disturbed for any other reason, I leave them be. Anyone who doesn't want to miss it only has to ask, and I'll make sure they don't.
What if I want to reach more guests?
Then I bring in fellow mentalists, so there are two or three of us. That way you reach two to three times as many guests in the same time. I only work with professional fellow mentalists for this, and I'm happy to check their availability with you.
What do you need?
Almost nothing. No stage, no sound system, no setup. Walking happens among your guests. All I need is people.
How long does Walking last?
Usually one to two and a half hours. Often during the reception and the run-up to dinner. We time it around your programme.
Do you perform while guests are eating?
No. I leave people to eat in peace. Instead, I look for a group that has already finished eating.
Does Walking work with a multilingual audience?
Yes. I work in English and Dutch and switch smoothly between the two, even within the same group.
When is Seated the better choice?
If you want one fixed spot where guests decide for themselves whether to sit down, Seated is the better fit. Walking and Seated also combine well within one evening.
