I'm Tijl Kerckhove. Mentalist from Antwerp, and the person who makes your guests briefly doubt what they just saw.
I perform close-up mentalism: psychological illusions from up close. No stage, no big equipment. Just your guests, and moments that shouldn't be possible but happen anyway.
I work at events and conferences in Belgium and abroad, previously for Porsche, Proximus, VRT, VTM and PwC, among others.

Mentalism works with attention, suggestion and the small choices people make without noticing. It happens in your guest's head, not in my hands.
I want to give people a beautiful moment, ideally one they won't soon forget. I'll do anything to create that moment, but it isn't about what I can do or what I do: if I've done it well, you didn't notice a thing. I don't know what you think, but how you think.
How I work
To the rhythm of the event
Every event has a rhythm of its own. We set the broad lines together in advance: the programme, the moments, what you want to achieve. On the night itself I read the room and choose, within that frame, what suits your guests.

I follow the rhythm of the event and pick my moments where they're strongest. Never an off-the-shelf act.

Fluent in English and Dutch, and I switch smoothly between the two, even within the same group.
Where I come from
Magician first, then mentalist
I've been doing magic since 2006; since 2021 it has been my profession, first as a theatre consultant and with an online mentalism show, today full-time close-up mentalism. And above all live. As I write in a note: mentalism is a branch of magic, the way patisserie is a branch of cooking.

I don't perform everything I create. As a magic consultant I work behind the scenes on concepts, illusions and moments that give an idea, a brand or a production something that can't be explained.
