Magic consultant for film, television and theatre
Some impossible moments are built for someone else to perform.
As a magic consultant I help design those moments behind the scenes: illusions, methods and dramaturgy for film, television, theatre and brands.
The work is just as often psychological as technical: a con that survives a second viewing, a twist the audience accepts instantly, a choice that feels free but lands exactly where the story needs it.
The work
Good consulting is invisible.
Sometimes that means a fully worked-out illusion, sometimes a method for a scene that already exists on paper, sometimes an honest answer about what will and won't fool an audience.
What I take on
From concept to rehearsal room
Concept development, methods and props, rehearsal-room guidance and on-set advice. For a single scene or a full production.
And just as often the quieter, psychological work: checking whether the con in a script actually holds up, writing a mind-reading or genius character who stays believable, designing audience decisions that feel free, or a product reveal where the mechanics stay out of sight. Discretion comes with the job: my name doesn't need to appear anywhere.
Background
A performer first
I've been in magic since 2006 and turned professional in 2021, first as a theatre consultant, today mostly as a close-up mentalist at events. That practice keeps the advice honest: I know what an audience actually sees, and what it only thinks it saw.
Working on
something impossible?
Tell me about the production or the idea: the medium, the stage it's at and what should feel impossible. You'll get an honest answer about what I can add.
